About the artist
Visual Art has always been my biggest passion. Throughout my life I was always drawing. My artwork got noticed at an earlier age when I won 3rd place in a province-wide painting competition at Grade 7. When I graduated elementary school, I received an award for my art from the school.
Things went downhill when I entered High School when I could no longer live at my home. At the age of fifteen, I had my own apartment and would make drawings for a few bucks so I could afford the little necessities that I had.
I did not have a computer at the time, so I would hand draw portraits at my apartment, which I colored with cheap pencil crayons. I would then take the completed work to the library which I would then scan and upload. In the hour long session I was given each day, I would add the finishing touches and send them to the customer.
It was a struggle, and I ended up moving from one slummy place to another. I eventually could afford my own computer, a cheap laptop. With the laptop, I could use the wireless internet at the library as long as I needed and switched to digital art.
I eventually happened across IMVU and signed up for the creator program. when my friends encouraged me to try to make 3D items. I started to focus more on making textures for existing meshes, but still made display pictures on the side. Lately I have begun to do some mesh work as well.
I feel like I have finally broken out of my poverty stricken existence. I have been able to afford foo, and not just stuff to fill me up, but food I can enjoy and is properly nourishing. I have a bit of a humble apartment, but I feel safe here. I even have a few pets to keep me company. I am really grateful for IMVU for giving me this opportunity and the people that have supported me.
